Dashboards and visualizations
Build shared views with graphs, scatter plots, tables, and contextual notes.

A dashboard gives your team a saved view of a project. Combine measurements and explanations so a reviewer can understand what is being monitored and which period they are looking at.
Create a useful first dashboard
- Open Dashboards and create a dashboard with a descriptive name.
- Select Edit dashboard, then Add widget.
- Choose the widget type and select the required instrument variables.
- Arrange and resize widgets, then select Save.
- Change the dashboard time range and confirm the expected readings appear.
Layout dragging and resizing require a wider viewport; the editor disables those controls below its supported width. Saved dashboards can still be viewed on smaller screens.
Choose the right widget

A first review dashboard might place a trend graph beside a table of the same variables, followed by notes identifying the work area and the purpose of each channel.
Time ranges and aggregation
Use a relative period for recent activity or an absolute range to investigate an event. Confirm the chosen range before interpreting an empty widget.
Graph series can use supported aggregation operations and intervals. Aggregated points summarize a window; they are not interchangeable with individual source readings. Choose a resolution that fits the question and inspect exact values when needed.
Use separate axes when selected variables have different units. The connect-nulls option changes how a line crosses gaps; configure it deliberately so the graph communicates missing data clearly.
Saving and sharing
Edits are saved as dashboard revisions. If another editor saves first, SanSignal keeps your local draft and offers Reload latest or Reapply local draft. Review the newer revision before applying your own changes.
Use team access grants to give people dashboard access. Dashboard viewer access is distinct from access to browse the full instrument catalog.
Missing or unavailable content
Check the time range, selected variables, access grants, lifecycle state, and any recalculation notice. Archived or unavailable sources can leave saved references that need attention. Archiving a dashboard preserves its widgets and access grants while making it read-only and hiding it from the default list.
